Evening snowshoe hike

Stargazing and coffee around the campfire – on snowshoes in Lofoten
Snowshoeing winter night lofoten shutterstock

Description

Experience Lofoten at its most magical with an evening snowshoe hike, whatever the weather! As darkness falls, Lofoten transforms into a quiet and mysterious world just waiting to be explored. The evening snowshoe hike starts with a short drive from Svolvær, before we strap on our snowshoes and turn on our headlamps. The hike is easy and accessible to everyone, with a total length of 2-3 kilometers, and we make several stops along the way to take in the dramatic surroundings.

Lofoten is known for its changeable weather, and that is exactly what makes this experience unique. We don’t cancel because of a little rain – rather, the weather is part of the magic. You will truly feel the elements on your body as you hike through snow-covered landscapes, protected by a traditional gapahuk where we take a break with campfire coffee. Here, the guide shares fascinating stories about the area.

If we are lucky, the sky will open up for spectacular stargazing, and maybe we will even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. This is Lofoten at its best – unpredictable, wild, and unforgettable.
