2-hour fishing trip in Lofoten – introduction
Experience the excitement and joy of fishing - 2-hour fishing trip from Svolvær
Description
This two-hour fishing trip in Lofoten is an introduction to fishing, for those who want a great experience at sea, and the excitement of fishing.
MS Symra, the vessel we use on this excursion, is a traditional fishing boat that has been in operation since 1917. She is protected by the Norwegian Agency for Cultural Heritage and is a jewel on the sea. The boat is equipped with 10 traditional juksahuls, so that 2 and 2 share a fishing spot on the trip.
From the deck of Symra you can enjoy the view of the mountains rising steeply from the sea and the traditional fishermen's huts that characterize the coastal landscape of Lofoten.
Under expert guidance from our crew, you will learn basic fishing techniques. The sea around Lofoten is teeming with life, giving you the opportunity to catch a variety of species, but the most common are cod, saithe and haddock.
While you wait for a bite, the crew will share stories about the history of Lofoten and the vital role of cod.
